Description: Established in 711 AD, this Shinto shrine is dedicated to Inari, the deity of rice and commerce. It’s famed for its thousands of vibrant vermilion torii gates that form scenic pathways winding up Mount Inari (233 m). The gates were largely donated by businesses hoping for prosperity. The ascent offers both spiritual ambiance and fantastic views of Kyoto.
